Our Vision

A living, evolving, intergenerationally transmitted Chidigo.

The 2040 picture

A Digo-speaking child in 2040 — born to parents who themselves struggled with the language — who reads Digo books, watches Digo cartoons, sings Digo songs they learned this year, and writes their own. A living, evolving, intergenerationally transmitted Chidigo, anchored in coastal cultural identity and connected to the modern world.

The four-tier model

Tier 1 — The Spine
Authoritative Reference

Monolingual dictionary, thesaurus, proverbs, grammar reference. The artifacts that define what the language is.

Tier 2 — The Heart
Living Platform

Online dictionary with audio, Urban Digo, search, daily-word features. The infrastructure that brings reference work to people.

Tier 3 — The Lungs
Cultural Production

Language model, stories, music database, fashion documentation, audio archive. What makes the language feel living rather than preserved.

Tier 4 — The Future
Transmission to Children

Picture books, adult learner courses, school curriculum partnerships, diaspora products. The only tier that breaks the cliff.

Roadmap

Theory of change

Reference works without transmission tools is a museum. Transmission tools without reference works are unmoored. The four tiers are worked in parallel with sequencing constraints: the dictionary’s first 5,000 entries unblock the platform; the platform unblocks Urban Digo; Urban Digo surfaces material for cultural production; cultural production feeds the transmission products that break the cliff.
